Improving competence in green technologies
Strefa RozwoYou 3.0 project is intended for individuals who wish to reskill and raise their professional competence. ‘Green transformation is a very important issue, requiring well-qualified specialists, and any activities related to it improve company image’, stated prof. Paweł Strumiłło, vice rector for development, who also leads the sustainable development panel at TUL.
Professor Strumiłło took part in the discussion panel on ‘ESG: towards sustainable development’ held during the conference. The discussion was moderated by Bartłomiej Zgorzelski, an entrepreneur, social activist and member of the Lodz University of Technology University Council. Amon its participants were representatives of green economy companies active implementing ESG principles and taking advantage of development vouchers to raise competence and advance skills.
The importance of hard skills for green transformation
Prof. Paweł Strumiłło underscored how important hard skills are: ‘We talk about green transformation and we do want to be part of it but we need to be aware of the phenomena well-defined in exact sciences, e.g. energy storage systems, wind power and hydrogen technologies. They all require very specific technical competence. TUL has a range of offerings in this area from training to courses and postgraduate certificates. That is why I am happy we are participating in the launch of the projects coordinated by ŁSSE. Our offer will be registered in the Development Services Database’.
TUL for green transformation
The conference also gave Lodz University of technology an opportunity to present the activities of its students and faculty towards green transformation and related to TUL’s participation in the Race to Zero campaign. Also present and available for inquiries at a stand designed especially for the conference were Lodz ICT Cluster and LODZistics cluster.
