The award-winning solution, developed together with Dr hab. Adam Sadowski, University of Łódź, concerns the implementation of an innovative system for reducing fuel burn in road transport – TIR Smart. This tool not only responds to the specific needs of transport companies, but also implements the principles of sustainable development in logistics. The combination of academic knowledge and market experience has resulted in the creation of a comprehensive tool to support companies in optimising fuel consumption and reducing emissions.
The system was implemented at Inglobi, but it was the expert knowledge and research potential of the project's creators that gained the competition's chapter's recognition as an example of effective knowledge transfer to business practice. The award is also confirmation that the future of transport lies in interdisciplinary solutions combining science, technology and the real needs of the market.
Importantly, the award-winning project was also nominated for the prestigious European Award for Logistics Excellence, organised by the European Logistics Association.
What is the TIR Smart system?
It is a comprehensive, cutting-edge solution designed for transport companies that want to reduce fuel consumption, cut operating costs and at the same time work to protect the environment.
The TIR Smart system integrates modern technology and operating practices. It includes, among other things:
• thermal inspection of driving systems, allowing detection of rolling resistance and minor faults before they affect fuel consumption,
• advanced analysis of telematics data, including assessment of driving style, idle time, and acceleration/braking dynamics,
• verification of the effectiveness of technologies that improve aerodynamics and tire pressure control, such as Optiflow, Supertech, or ContiPressureCheck,
• engine performance optimization, especially for vehicles operating on fixed routes, allowing precise engine adjustment to route conditions.
