Gabriel Narutowicz is widely known for being the first president of the Republic of Poland and for his tragic death in an assassination, but he was also an engineer.

The Academy of Engineering in Poland was established in 1992 at the initiative of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations NOT. It is an association of distinguished creators of Polish technology—engineers and entrepreneurs. The mission of the Academy is to support the development of modern technologies and innovative entrepreneurship, facilitate technology transfer to economic practice, promote technical culture in line with sustainable development strategies, and promote Polish innovation both domestically and abroad.

This is another Gabriel oak. A similar initiative took place last year at Poznań University of Technology, which hosted the Academy meeting in 2023.
