Over the past year, close to 90 individuals, having successfully defended their doctoral dissertations or received their postdoctoral degree, have advanced to the next stage of their academic careers. It was a day of rejoicing and contentment for the individuals who attended the session of the TUL Senate held on this occasion.
Customarily, on May 24, on the anniversary of the establishment of Lodz University of Technology, a formal meeting of the Senate will be held. The university's birthday is an opportunity for a joint meeting of the academic community with the city and university authorities, as well as the presentation of awards to academics and students.
In the Prof. Tadeusz Paryjczak Auditorium in the "Alchemium - the magic of tomorrow's chemistry" building, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology - Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik presented eight scientists with habilitation degrees and 65 with doctoral degrees in engineering and technology, natural sciences, agricultural sciences and social sciences.
Lodz University of Technology has been recognized in the ‘European Universities - Alliances of the Future’ competition. TUL won in the category Erasmus+ Excellence. The award was presented to the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, during the ceremony concluding the 1st Conference of European Universities.
Architectural design workshops for children and adolescents from Ukraine - Architectural Abecadło - Архітектурна Абетка, were organized jointly by the Scientific Association of Architectural Design Students ‘IX Piętro’, the Student Scientific Association ‘Kąt’, in collaboration with the Ecological Association Phoenix, directed by Mr. Ihor Ivonchik.

The technology relies on graphene-based composite materials and will be employed to obtain ultrapure, high grade water. It was developed collaboratively by researchers from Lodz University of Technology and the staff of AMII Łódź, a company that makes water filters, among other products.

For the first time, Poland is taking part in the global F1 in Schools competition, under the patronage of Formula 1. The Polish finals, F1 in Schools Poland, are scheduled to take place this Sunday, May 14, at the TUL Sports Bay (Zatoka Sportu). The competition, the organizers say, is the largest and most exciting STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) event of its kind in the world. It will kick off at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to end at 4:30 p.m.
For the first time in Poland, on May 14, the Sports Bay, TUL will host the finals of the F1 in Schools Poland world competition, under the patronage of Formula 1. As the organizers say, it is the largest and most exciting STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) competition in the world.
