Students of Lodz University of Technology Vice-Champions of Europe
Encouraged by the success of the woonerf project on Stefanowskiego Street in the previous editions of the Participatory Budget, students of the CIRKULA Students' Research Group have submitted another project to this year's Participatory Budget which will beautify the immediate surroundings of Lodz University of Technology. This time, it is Skorupki Street, which houses, among others, the Rector's Office.
The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (IDS) at Lodz University of Technology has been operating for 2 years, educating students from all over the world in English. The IDS community consists of about 200 young researchers working on their doctoral dissertation theses in the standard, implementation and project formula. Prof. Agnieszka Ruppert talks about the activities of the IDS.
A team of students from the Lodz University of Technology - Lodz Solar Team - operating at the Institute of Turbomachinery, presented the latest version of the electric vehicle - Eagle Two (10.09) in Monopolis. In a few days, on 18 September, the car will take part in an international competition in Belgium.
The President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, on 27th July, awarded the academic title of professor of social sciences in the discipline of management and quality sciences to Magdalena Grębosz - Krawczyk, PhD, from the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering at TUL. Students of applied computer science at Lodz University of Technology specialising in computer graphics and multimedia will, together with the S3D-vnLAB Studio Team from Lodz Film School, create a stereoscopic film in the puppet technique with the use of virtual scenography.
The "Building Excellence at TUL" project was included in the Catalogue of Good Practices in Social Responsibility of Universities 2021, prepared by the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy. The publication will include the best practices implemented by Polish universities in the area of social responsibility.
The authorities of Lodz University of Technology invite everyone to two ceremonies important for the academic community. On Friday, 17 September, at 10 a.m. there will be the official opening of the new building of the Faculty of Chemistry, Alchemium - the magic of the chemistry of tomorrow, and the main hall of this building will be named after Professor Tadeusz Paryjczak. At 12.00 p.m. a ceremonial meeting of the TUL Senate will begin, during which Professor Klaus Müllen will receive an honorary doctorate.

Lodz University of Technology is implementing a project worth over PLN 15,000,000 to improve the university's accessibility for students and staff. The ongoing process of organisational and architectural changes will translate into higher competences of Lodz University of Technology staff, adjustment of education to the needs of people with disabilities and increased equal opportunities and non-discrimination.

A partner of Lodz University of Technology, DIGICA, a company specialising in developing software based on advanced artificial intelligence for the medical and defence industries, has opened a new office in Lodz.
The programme aims to create conditions for the development of cooperation of entities of the higher education system and science with the socio-economic environment, carried out within doctoral schools and consisting in educating doctoral candidates in cooperation with entrepreneurs or other entities employing them. The effect will be the implementation of these results of research activities carried out by doctoral students in these entities.
Professor Halina Abramczyk was honoured by the President with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for her outstanding achievements in scientific and didactic work and for promoting Polish science around the world.
Professor Beata Kolesińska from the Faculty of Chemistry at Lodz University of Technology has been awarded the Ambassador of Innovation prize by the Europejski Ośrodek Rozwoju Gospodarki. The researcher was awarded for conducting research work and pioneering projects with application potential.
