Researchers from the Department of Environmental Biotechnology at TUL, together with the Krajowa Spółka Cukrowa, received 19 million PLN from the National Centre for Research and Development to develop an innovative process for drying pulp using waste heat and obtaining functional feed components, as part of the circular economy of sugar factories.
The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has announced the list of winners of this year's START programme - 100 most talented young scientists. Among the best researchers was Paweł Czapski, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology.
Over the last two years, Assoc. Prof. Eng. Robert Cichowicz, Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering at TUL, has been analysing the air quality with the use of a specialised drone in various locations within the Lodz agglomeration, including: the A and B campus of Lodz University of Technology and the areas which may be affected by the Lodz Combined Heat and Power Plants EC-3 and EC-4. He explains the results of his research in an interview and presents them in the prepared video footage.

Nuclear power still raises many doubts, which is why the voice of experts is so important. Andrzej Gąsiorowski, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Faculty of Chemistry, conducts research aimed at increasing safety of work with ionizing radiation. He is a graduate of Chemical Technology at TUL, he participated in NCN and NCBR projects. He is a scholarship holder of the Polish Society for Radiation Research. He took part in a training and internship trip to Spain in the field of nuclear energy, as well as in technical trips to the nuclear sector in France and Germany.
From October, first-year students at TUL will be able to apply for the new programme E²TOP - Excellence in Engineering Talents in Research with Opportunities Programme. Those qualified will receive additional scientific scholarships.

The Romanian Politehnica University of Timisoara (PUT) awarded (28 May) an honorary doctorate to Professor Jan Awrejcewicz, an outstanding mechanical specialist, head of the Department of Automation, Biomechanics and Mechatronics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology. This is the seventh honorary title that the Professor has received in his scientific career.
The results of one of the most prestigious and most important world rankings - Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) have been published. Once again, Lodz University of Technology has been highly ranked in two disciplines - Mechanical Engineering and Biotechnology
Research conducted by Professor Katarzyna Pernal from the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics (FTIMS) is highly regarded by the scientific community. Prof. Pernal was recently invited to write an article in the renowned NRC journal on advances in chemistry and computational physics. She is also nominated for the Heisig Prize known as the 'little Nobel'.
In his work he perfectly combines theoretical knowledge with experience gained on the construction site. He uses this in his research, which aims to determine the reliability of structures such as halls and masts. Rafał Bredow, MSc. is the winner of, among others, the Prof. Kuczyński Award for the best thesis in the field of construction and continues his education at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at Lodz University of Technology.
