The results of the latest edition of Webometrics ranking were published. It took into account nearly 12 thousand higher education institutions, including nearly 400 Polish universities. Lodz University of Technology was classified on 1095th place in the world and 16th in Poland.

Each year, the Student Government at TUL holds a competition for the Best Teacher at Lodz University of Technology. During the summary of this year's activity, the TUL Student Government (January 28) officially announced the results of the competition for the academic year 2019/2020. Students of Lodz University of Technology have chosen the company which in their opinion is the best employer in the Lodz region in 2020. The winner of the vote was Ericsson. On 21 January, the Rector of the Technical University of Lodz, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, presented the representatives of the company with a commemorative statuette and a diploma.

Prof. dr hab. inż. Jacek Jachymski is a graduate of the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics (currently Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics). His scientific specialties are functional analysis, fractal theory and fixed point theory.

Prof. Mariusz Wójcik graduated in physics from the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics of Lodz University of Technology (now the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics) in 1986. After graduation he started work at the Interdepartmental Institute of Radiation Technology at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and he still works there.
