The Romanian Politehnica University of Timisoara (PUT) awarded (28 May) an honorary doctorate to Professor Jan Awrejcewicz, an outstanding mechanical specialist, head of the Department of Automation, Biomechanics and Mechatronics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology. This is the seventh honorary title that the Professor has received in his scientific career.

Research conducted by Professor Katarzyna Pernal from the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics (FTIMS) is highly regarded by the scientific community. Prof. Pernal was recently invited to write an article in the renowned NRC journal on advances in chemistry and computational physics. She is also nominated for the Heisig Prize known as the 'little Nobel'.

The staff of the Polish Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will wear clothes designed by Barbara Florczyk, a student of clothing architecture at the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design (WTMiWT) of Lodz University of Technology. Clothes made according to her designs will be seen by millions of visitors to the Polish stands at this most prestigious exhibition in the world.
