Scientists from Lodz University of Technology, in collaboration with BioStar PPHU Witold Krusz, are working to produce high-quality wheat bread using sourdough. They aim for the bread to have a rich aroma and flavor while improving the traditional technological process.

At its last meeting in 2024, the Senate of Lodz University of Technology decided to initiate proceedings for the conferral of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa upon Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament. The supervisor of this process is the rector, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik.
The results of the National Science Centre (NCN) competitions have proven very beneficial for researchers at Lodz University of Technology. They will implement five projects in Opus 27 and five in Preludium 23, with a total value of nearly 9.4 million PLN.

AI Football Manager is the title of another project in the programme for particularly gifted students at TUL. It is being carried out by Weronika Wiechno, who studies Applied Computer Science. She is a scholarship holder of the Intel-Perspectives 2024/2025 New Technologies for Women programme. Her hobby is playing the piano. In the future, she would like to pursue a career in science, as she has been fascinated by acquiring knowledge since childhood.
The Polish Association of Plastic Converters announced the winner of the competition for the most innovative applications of these materials in scientific work. The winner is Konrad Stefaniak, a student at TUL.
Among the 29 applications submitted in July by young scientists from the Lodz University of Technology to the National Science Centre for the MINIATURA 8 competition, as many as 13 received funding for conducting research or study visits.
Is it possible to create fully natural cosmetics enclosed in biodegradable packaging? Yes, and this challenge has been taken on by Karina Skura, a student of the 2023/24 academic year at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences. She is the secretary of the BioMass Student Scientific Research Group. As a young researcher, she is carrying out scientific projects that have resulted in publications and a patent application for an eco-friendly packaging material.
On November 13, during a ceremonial meeting of the Senate of Lodz University of Technology, awards and medals were presented to distinguished employees as well as prizes for the best students and graduates of the university (photo report).

As of today (14.11), the Gabriel oak tree is growing on Campus B. It was planted by Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, the Rector of TUL, and Professor Jerzy Barglik, the president of the Academy of Engineering in Poland. The awarding of an honorary doctorate is a prestigious recognition of a scientist’s outstanding achievements and contributions to advancing a particular field, a significant tradition in academic life. During a ceremonial session of the Senate, the honorary doctorate of Lodz University of Technology was conferred upon Prof. Bogusław Buszewski, an ordinary member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The laudatory address was delivered by the award’s promoter, Prof. Małgorzata Iwona Szynkowska-Jóźwik, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, and the degree was formally presented by the university’s Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik.
